International Press Day 2019

Earlier this month, Childhome, the Belgian manufacturer of baby products and furniture, organised the second, successful International Press Day at their offices located in Kontich, Belgium.

They invited journalists from all over the world: Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and of course Nursery Online from the UK, for an inspiring day.

The program was packed starting with a tour around the Inspiration Showroom filled with innovative baby products, a strong debate about the second-hand market and an interesting guest speaker: Maryke Hanneman from the European Nursery Products Confederation (ENPC). The second day we visited some baby shops to get an in-store experience with the Childhome products.

Of course, there was also time for pleasure. Childhome took us on a city tour through Antwerp and together we enjoyed a typical Antwerp beer 'Bolleke'.

The two days were very interesting and some great memories - and contacts - were made. We flew back home with a box of Belgian chocolates and a personalised Mommy Bag. Of course, we have all said Yes Please! for the next Childhome International Press Day.

Elodie Details is rebranding

The Swedish design brand Elodie Details will soon reveal a new visual identity complete with a new logotype and monogram. The transformation will reflect how the company has grown and matured since the start over a decade ago.

The Elodie Details’ logotype has had the same look since founder Linda Sätterström created it back in 2005, and it quickly became a well-known symbol of a growing brand that entered family homes all over the world. But Elodie Details has grown up, and it’s time for the company’s visual identity to reflect that.

"It was an emotional but necessary decision, to change something that has been associated with the Elodie from the very beginning," says Linda Sätterström, Founder and Creative Director. "I look at the Crown Logo and I’m immediately taken back to all those late nights with hard work. But, just like my kids, Elodie Details keeps growing, and is now ready to take on a new and more mature shape and form. It’s an amazing journey to be part of."

The new logo brings Elodie Details into the future, but it also honours its past by borrowing design elements from the very first product Linda created back in 2005 – the pacifier clip.

Linda Harriet Lenninger, CMO, explains that the update is something that she and everyone else at Elodie Details are confident will strengthen the company’s appeal with design conscious, modern parents: "While the visual identity and the logo are getting an update, my vision for the company — to make life with children even more beautiful — has always been the same, so it makes me very happy that we were able to incorporate a core part of our history into the new logo. And when developing the new visual identity, we always had our core values in mind: conscious, premium, friendly, and well-designed."

"2019 will be an important milestone for us, taking a huge step forward in our branding. While the Crown Logo will be remembered with much love and appreciation, we are ready for the next step in this journey and we are incredibly excited for Elodie Details’ future," says Harriet

The new logo will be revealed at the same time as the AW19 collection.

Looking for retail agents

The multi-award winning British baby and childrenswear brand, The bonnie mob, is looking for retail agents in Benelux, Japan and Canada.

For early 2020, The bonnie mob will launch an eco-friendly spring summer collection, ‘Lazy Hazy Summer Days’. Inspired by the lush tea plantations and safaris in Sri Lanka, a green leaf print and lazy leopard feature across super soft 100% organic cotton jerseywear. Meanwhile, cute buzzy bees pop up throughout the collection, reminiscent of summer days spent wandering through the long wavy grass in the British countryside. The Bonnie mob’s iconic rainbow motif returns in two new colour ways for spring summer, which contrast beautifully with a cheeky cloud and retro sunshine print.

This season 95% of the collection is made from 100% certified organic cotton. For SS20, the brand has focused on making the fabrics even softer, especially knitwear.

Tracey Samuel, The bonnie mob’s founder and design director, says, ‘One of our most important priorities is getting the fabric just right, making sure the softness is spot-on.’

Books will close 31st July 2019 and delivery will be from Dec 2019.

The bonnie mob will be attending the following trade shows for SS20:

  • Pitti Immagine Bimbo, 20-22 June
  • Playtime Paris 28-30 June
